Tekly Sim Racing Code of Conduct
1. Sportsmanship and Fairness
- Core Values: All participants must uphold high standards of sportsmanship, displaying fairness, respect, and integrity in all interactions.
- Respect for Competitors: Treat fellow drivers, race officials, and spectators with courtesy. Deliberate contact or retaliatory behavior on or off the track is strictly prohibited.
- Racing Etiquette: Drive within the spirit of fair competition. Avoid reckless actions that compromise the safety or enjoyment of others.
2. Behavioral Expectations
- Zero Tolerance for Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Any form of harassment, discrimination, or aggressive conduct toward others is unacceptable and will lead to disciplinary action.
- Compliance with Officials' Instructions: Follow all guidance from race stewards and officials. Challenges to decisions must be handled respectfully through proper channels.
- Sportsmanlike Communication: Maintain professional language in all communications, both in race chats and in the Tekly Sim Racing Discord server. During critical race periods, keep voice channels clear unless using designated team chat.
3. On-Track Conduct
- Driving Standards: Practice responsible driving. Maintain control, avoid erratic maneuvers, and respect braking zones and racing lines of competitors.
- Yielding and Blue Flags: In all cases, it is the responsibility of the faster car to safely overtake the slower car. It is the responsibility of the slower car to maintain a consistent line. It is strongly recommended that a slower car being lapped makes every reasonable effort to facilitate a safe pass.
- Incidents and Avoidance: Make every effort to avoid accidents. If involved in an incident, rejoin the track safely and without causing additional risk to others.
4. Integrity and Fair Play
- No Cheating or Exploitation: Drivers must not exploit game bugs or modify files for competitive advantage. Setup sharing and legal tuning are allowed within the regulations.
- Transparency: Report any unintentional infractions or technical issues that impact others to race officials.
5. Reporting and Stewarding
- Incident Reporting: Follow the official incident reporting procedures post-race. Reports should be factual and submitted in the required format.
- Steward Review Process: All steward decisions are final. Feedback or appeals must be handled respectfully and through designated channels, not in public spaces or race chats.
6. Consequences for Misconduct
- Penalties: Violation of the Code of Conduct can result in penalties such as warnings, time penalties, disqualification, or suspension from events or the league.
- Accountability: Drivers are accountable for their behavior. Persistent disregard for the Code of Conduct will lead to escalated penalties.
7. Applicability and Updates
- Code Updates: The Code of Conduct may be updated at any time without prior warning. It applies to all Tekly Sim Racing sanctioned events, including but not limited to Tekly Sim Endurance, Real Rookie Racing, and Real Amateur Racing events.
Tekly Sim Racing and its subsidiaries reserve the right to remove and ban participants for violation of the Code of Conduct with or without warning. If you feel you have been punished unfairly, please reach out to the administration with your appeal.
Tekly Sim Endurance League Rules
*These rules are subject to change at any time without warning. Tekly Sim Racing and its subsidiaries reserve the right to remove or ban participants for any reason. Bans and removals may be appealed following our formal appeals process.*
1. Start Procedures
- Formation Lap: The formation lap will be conducted behind the Safety Car for a rolling start. It is the responsibility of the slower class to maintain a gap between themselves and the class in front.
- Incident During Formation: In the event of an incident during the rolling start, an additional rolling lap may be performed if deemed necessary by the stewards.
- Grid Alignment: Drivers must align in a double-file format when approaching the start/finish line. A 10-second gap must be maintained between different class groups.
- Green Flag Procedure: Drivers will receive a "Safety Car In This Lap" message when the safety car enters sector 3. The race will officially begin once the Safety Car exits the track, and the green flag is waved. Overtaking before the start/finish line is prohibited.
2. Pit Procedures
- Mandatory Long Stops: Each race will include mandatory long stops with a minimum duration of 3 minutes, occurring at the following intervals:
- 0-90 minutes: 0 long stops required
- 90-180 minutes: 1 long stop required
- 180-270 minutes: 2 long stops required
- 270-360 minutes: 3 long stops required
- 360-450 minutes: 4 long stops required
- Pit Entry/Exit: Drivers must adhere to the pit entry and exit lines. Cutting across these lines will result in a drive-through penalty.
- Speed Limit: The pit lane speed limit will be set per track. Exceeding the speed limit will incur a drive-through penalty.
3. Driver Changes
- Driver Swaps: Teams must conduct driver swaps during pit stops if applicable. A minimum of one driver swap per race is required for races longer than 6 hours.
- Solo Drivers: Solo drivers are allowed and must adhere to the mandatory long-stop requirements as outlined, even without swapping drivers.
- Driver Eligibility: Each participating driver must complete a minimum of 30 minutes of drive time per 3-hour race period.
4. Flag Rules
- Yellow Flags: Momentary yellow flags may flash due to a driver going off-track. Drivers are not required to slow down but must proceed with caution and remain alert.
- Blue Flags: These flags are informational. The faster car is responsible for overtaking safely, while the slower car must maintain a consistent line. It is strongly recommended that slower cars facilitate a safe pass. Slower cars should remain predictable and avoid making sudden adjustments. If blue-flagged, drivers are advised to flash their blinkers on the side where the faster car can safely pass.
- Red Flag: In the event of a major incident, drivers must return to the pit lane. The race will resume under the safety car.
- White Flags: These flags do not display in Assetto Corsa.
- Black Flag: Drivers must return to the pits and appeal their disqualification or disconnect from the event.
- Checkered Flag: After completing the final lap, drivers are encouraged to participate in a demolition derby at Turn 1. If a driver does not wish to participate, they should continue their lap until they can safely teleport to the pits.
5. Track Limits
- Exceeding Track Limits: Drivers are allowed one warning per hour for the duration of the event. Additional violations will result in a 15-second time penalty added to the final race time, and the track limits counter will be reset each time a penalty is issued. For example, in a 4-hour event, drivers are allowed 4 violations per 15-second penalty; in a 12-hour event, 12 violations per 15-second penalty. Blatant and intentional abuse of track limits will be reviewed and may result in disqualification.
- Abusing Track Limits: Intentionally obtaining one or more track cuts each lap to gain an advantage will lead to manual penalties for each violation. Persistent abuse will result in disqualification.
- Rejoining the Track: Drivers may slow down to avoid a track limits violation, but this must be done off-track. Rejoining the track must be done safely to prevent compromising another team's race.
6. Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car (VSC)
- Safety Car Deployment: A safety car may be deployed in the event of significant incidents. Overtaking is prohibited until the safety car returns to the pits.
- Virtual Safety Car: Drivers must slow to a designated delta pace during VSC periods. Failure to comply will result in time penalties.
- Safety Car Model: The Safety Car for the Tekly Sim Endurance leagues is a Mazda Miata MX5 Cup car, honoring our roots in rookie inclusion.
7. Penalties and Stewarding
- Automated Penalties: The majority of penalties are managed through automated systems.
- Live Stewarding: Live stewards monitor the race and will apply additional penalties for infractions such as blocking, unsafe rejoins, and other significant violations.
- Incident Reporting: Drivers and teams may report incidents for review within 24 hours of the race’s conclusion.
8. Balance of Performance (BoP)
- BoP Adjustments: Balance of Performance adjustments may be applied to ensure fairness among different car classes.
- Communication: BoP communications will be delivered every time an adjustment has been made.
9. Multi-Class Regulations
- Class Behavior: Faster class cars (e.g., LMDh) are responsible for safe overtaking. Slower class cars (e.g., GT3) should maintain their racing line when being overtaken.
- Interaction: Respect and situational awareness are critical, especially in mixed-class sections of the track.
- Penalties for Awareness: Significant lack of awareness or track courtesy that compromises race integrity and impacts other participants will be subject to penalties or revocation of participation eligibility.
